31. Green Island

Mooring depth: 30 feet (9m)
Maximum depth: 80 feet (24m)

A calm day or wind out of the south can bring us to this less often dove site. Counter-clockwise navigation of this small island pinnacle unveils a grove of gorgonians and a small colony of both Bushy and Feather Black Coral. Schools of Bermuda Chubs are strongly represented along with Parrotfish and Queen Angels on the backside of the island. Skittish Nurse Sharks nestle among the barrel sponges and smaller creatures enjoy the protection of the Elkhorn Coral. Towards the end of the dive, check out Popeye's large anchor long embedded in the sand from the days of active sulphur mining.
